Reston Town Center
The commercial core

| Housing stock | Mid rise and high rise condominiums, newer construction. |
| Transit | Reston Town Center Metro station on the Silver Line. |
What it is
Town Center is where Reston stops feeling suburban. It was built as the commercial hub, and the residential component is largely condominium: mid rise and high rise buildings, most of them considerably newer than the housing in the five villages.
Daily life
Restaurants, offices, a cinema, and a seasonal event calendar are all within a short walk, and the Silver Line station puts Tysons and downtown Washington on the train. Residents here tend to drive less than anywhere else in Reston. The paved trail network still connects out to the rest of the community, so the tradeoff is not as sharp as it looks.
What buyers ask
The recurring question is about condo fees and what they cover, because a building with a concierge, a garage, and shared amenities carries a different monthly number than a cluster townhome. The second question is noise and activity, which is genuinely a matter of taste and floor plan. A unit facing the plaza and a unit facing away are different homes.
What sellers should know
Condominium sales run on a separate document track from the rest of Reston, and the association package needs ordering early. This is also the part of Reston where a seller is most likely to be competing with a directly comparable unit listed the same month.
