What it is

Hunters Woods was the first village center on the south side, and it remains one of the most practically useful. The main Reston Community Center facility is here, which means a theater, programming, and meeting space that residents across Reston use.

Daily life

The housing mix is genuinely mixed, and that is the point. Detached homes, patio homes, and townhomes sit close together, which produces a broader range of household types than a single product neighborhood does. Trails connect out in several directions and the village center covers everyday errands.

What buyers ask

People ask about the age and condition of the housing stock, which spans the 1970s onward, and about which cluster a specific home belongs to, since services and fees vary meaningfully from one to the next. The community center is a real draw for buyers with children and for buyers who are downsizing and want programming within walking distance.

What sellers should know

Homes here that have not had siding, windows, or kitchens touched since the original build are common, and we price to what the home is rather than to what a renovated neighbor sold for.
